CHARACTER INFO.
Character Name: Brown, Nicolas
Canon: GANGSTA. | during ch. 30, right before Dr. Theo approaches him
Character Appearance: cray | not so cray
Character Age: 34
Pick A Number: 321, 101

Canon Setting: **WARNING** The following contains triggering topics such as: human experimentation, substance abuse/dependence, and elements of slavery.

Gangsta appears to take place on a version of Earth with an alternate history. In this Earth, superhumans co-exist with regular humans (sometimes referred to as NORMALS) due to the ramifications of a war referred to as the War of Unification in 1908. The details of the war have not yet been divulged within the canon, but it was during this war between the West and the East that the use of an enhancement drug called CELEBRE was spearheaded by the Western Alliance. This drug was administered to soldiers in order to push the limits of their physical strength and reflexes. The use of the drug for military purposes was eventually banned at the conclusion of the war in 1912, due to numerous cases of problems being reported. As with any drug, the high levels of toxicity in Celebre not only caused numerous problems for its users, but created a strong dependence to it as well. Withdrawal symptoms for the drug include a wide variety of health problems, ranging from something as simple as nausea to something as fatal as death itself. In time, the very drug that caused all their problems became the only thing keeping the users alive and stable.

Celebre come in two forms: UPPERS and DOWNERS. Uppers are used as a stimulant, boosting a user’s already-enhanced abilities well past the body’s limits. When overdosed on Uppers, a user will have numbed pain receptors, some organ damage, and may even suffer from a manic state. Downers, on the other hand, work as a depressant or tranquilizer, counteracting the Upper's effects and stabilizing the body. If a user overdoses on Downers, it can cause fatigue, loss of consciousness, and/or organ failure. Celebre are most commonly found in pill forms, which can be chewed to hasten the effects. Celebre can also be found in two other forms: an auto-injector akin to EpiPens which are typically used for emergencies and a syringe-bullet similar to the darts found in tranquilizing guns.

Users of the drug were eventually called TWILIGHTS due to the side effect of a shortened lifespan. Apart from this, all Twilights and their descendants also spend their short lives suffering from a variety of mental and/or physical disorders that work as “compensation” for their superhuman abilities. The severity of these disorders usually depends on how pure a Twilight they are, with half-Twilights (termed HAGURE) showing up with more severe cases if their mother were a Twilight, as opposed to their father. Hagure have also been reported to possess slightly longer lifespans.

Twilights are also referred to as TAGGED because every known Twilight is documented and labeled with a dog tag similar to the ones worn by military personnel. One of these dog tags bears a Twilight’s name, birthdate (if known), blood type, place of origin, and affiliation (such as the guild or mercenary troop they serve, if at all). The other tag bears the Twilight's rank, shown as a letter (lowest to highest: D, C, B, A, S) and a number (lowest to highest: 5-0). At the current canon point, S/0 is the highest rank ever recorded. A Twilight’s ranking seems to be based purely on strength. They can move up in ranks officially by improving their abilities. On top of this, Twilights can also be categorized by specific “types,” such as speed types and power types, depending on what they are particularly exceptional at.

These dog tags are embedded with chips that monitor a Twilight’s vital signs, as well as possess the ability to leave recorded encryptions. Once a Twilight dies, their tags are taken and every record of their existence is deleted from all known registries. (When Twilights get into fights, it is typical for all parties included to display their tags once things start getting serious. It seems to be a form of bravado and a warning.)

This world also houses another breed of superhumans who are descendants of Celebre-users that do not suffer any negative effects from the drug. As Worick explains, they “are just like the Tagged without compensation.” They are quite rare and typically raised as HUNTERS, seemingly for the sole purpose of exterminating Twilights. Most (but not all) Hunters appear to work under a faction called the DESTROYERS.

But more on that later.

Twilights, as a whole, are bound by what is known as THE THREE PRINCIPLES.
Article One: Twilights must not intentionally hurt humans. Destroying the overall balance by disregarding this rule is forbidden.

Article Two: Twilights must obey rules directed to them by humans. However, orders that conflict with Article One are exceptions.

Article Three: If the situation does not conflict with Articles One and Two, a Twilight must defend oneself.
These principles were created as a measure against the Twilights’ strength and numbers, thereby ensuring the humans’ continued dominance over them. While it usually works as an honor system, a Twilight caught disobeying the principles receives a swift, strict punishment. These can come from both humans and fellow Twilights themselves, as it is because of these principles that most of the peace between Twilights and humans are maintained. The principles offer humans a sense of security, quelling their fears and keeping them from lashing out; in turn, Twilights use the principles as a focal point of stability.

The majority of the canon takes place in a city called ERGASTULUM. Created a year after the War of Unification, Ergastulum was initially meant as a sanctioned quarantine for all the Twilights that the world decided it no longer needed. Deemed too unstable and dangerous, Twilights were (and largely still are) considered beneath humans and treated as such. Any Twilights that were born outside of the area were considered “strays,” captured, tagged, and sent to Ergastulum with the others. Over time, due to growth and expansion, it become a city all on its own. Eventually, Twilights were no longer the only inhabitants: once prisons became too overcrowded, criminals both Twilight and human were dumped in the city, and refugees from other countries fled there, creating a vast racial diversity within Ergastulum (to note: African American and Chinese heritages have been canonically referred to).

Present-day Ergastulum takes place sometime after 1989 (which is the last mentioned date in the series), but likely before the 21st century. Old-fashioned computers, cellphones, and earpieces are present within the world, as well as automobiles, television, and radios. Though never confirmed, it is highly plausible that Ergastulum resides in a Western area of the world, given the strong English influences in both culture and language (notably, names of most establishments and texts are in English, while the currency they handle greatly resembles the American dollar). Of course, due to the city’s racial diversity, the culture within the city itself is incredibly eclectic. The presence of brand name products such as Pall Mall cigarettes, Perrier mineral water, and Sunbucks (a not-so-subtle parody of Starbucks) implies an American and French presence in the world, while names of families and the main characters’ business (“Benriya”) suggests an Italian and Japanese presence. Shakespeare’s works are also predominantly displayed within the series, hinting at a British presence as well.

In terms of economic status, there is a pretty great and obvious divide within the city. Humans retain a fairly decent social and economic status, while Twilights (especially those that are unaffiliated) generally appear quite poverty-stricken. Despite the city initially being created for Twilights, there are still a good number of humans who live there who continue to treat them like trash or property, or fear them as if they were monsters. Due to its poor economic status, small businesses tend to flourish (like the main characters’ “handymen” shop), as well as does the sex industry.

Ergastulum itself is guarded by four gates: North, West, East, and South. Despite being part of a larger country, it is essentially left to its own devices. Within Ergastulum are factions known as the FOUR BIG FATHERS. These organizations are largely responsible for maintaining the delicate balance between the Twilights and the humans.

The PAUL KLEE GUILD provides “work” for Twilights. It is due to the late Paul Klee’s efforts in 1934 that the social status of Twilights began to improve — by organizing Twilights into a large mercenary group for hire, they became of some use to humans once more. The MONROE family is in charge of commerce, as well as providing support for Twilights who do not work under the Guild. The CRISTIANO family work under the Monroe family and are in charge of distributing Celebre (though the Cristianos family also run an underground safe haven for unaffiliated Twilights under the guise of a brothel/bar). Last but not least is the CORSICA family who are in charge of the city’s sex industry and weapons smuggling. While the first three organizations tend to be more sympathetic to Twilights, the Corsica family is largely anti-Twilight, and never really hesitates to make that known. It is under the Corsica family that the aforementioned Destroyers are employed. Their wide-spread massacre of Twilights has spurred anti-Twilight groups back into action. Monopolizing on this chaos, the Corsica family has also targeted the heads of the pro-Twilight organizations, hoping to tip more of the power in their own favor.

Character History: **WARNING** The following contains some triggering topics such as: abuse, murder, substance abuse/dependence, and attempted suicide.

Nicolas Brown was born to an unnamed Twilight mother and human father, a captain of the West Gate mercenary troop named Gaston Brown. His mother, a prostitute, was eventually killed by Gaston, but Nicolas was kept alive in order to be exploited for his Twilight abilities. Gaston made Nicolas a member of his troop, intending to take advantage of his skills before selling him off to a Guild once he was older and stronger. Because Gaston controlled Nicolas’ Celebre supply, the boy grew up a dependent and obedient soldier. On top of this, Nicolas was also born deaf, and with no formal assistance with this disability, communication between him and anyone else was virtually impossible.

Around the age of 12, Nicolas and the rest of his father’s troops became employed by the Arcangelos. The Arcangelos appeared to be a fairly prominent family of great wealth and influence, and Gaston’s troops were paid to grant the family protection. It’s during this time that Nicolas was assigned to be the newest bodyguard of the family’s youngest and illegitimate son, Wallace. Initially, Wallace was intent on driving Nicolas away, just like all his other guardians. Nicolas, however, remained dutifully by his side, and when Wallace recognized signs of Nicolas’ abuse, their relationship began to change. Because Wallace suffered from abuse at the hands of his own father, he gradually began to sympathize and warm up to Nicolas, though neither boy ever outright admitted the truth behind all their respective injuries. During this time together, Wallace taught Nicolas how to read and write, and after finding a book on sign language within the family library, the two learned how to sign together. Without realizing that Nicolas was actually a Twilight, Wallace wound up being the first (and at the time, the only) person to ever treat Nicolas without discrimination, going so far as to insist that, when it was just the two of them, they were virtually equals.

Sometime after the two settled into a routine, Gaston’s troop was called to assist in the anti-Twilight riots happening around the city. At his father’s orders, Nicolas left Wallace for an undefined amount of time in order to fight. During this time, his father dosed him with Celebre in order to utilize his abilities as a Twilight. He received several injuries, but he made it back to the Arcangelo estate alive when the riots eventually died down. However, due to sloppily stitching up his own wounds in place of proper medical care, his injuries grew infected. When Wallace employed the family doctor to treat the other boy, he was informed of Nicolas’ Twilight heritage and his subsequent dependence on Celebre. Despite his initial shock and denial, Wallace remained rather loyal to Nicolas. Determined to help the boy, Wallace essentially bought him from Gaston so that Nicolas would no longer be under the man’s tyranny. However, this only led to a total abandonment from his father, greatly numbing Nicolas. His father had been, up until then, the only fixed point in his life.

Despite this, he remained a dutiful bodyguard to Wallace, who only continued to suffer more abuse from his own father. Things finally culminated when Wallace’s father put a cigarette out in his son’s left eye, causing Nicolas to snap and massacre the entire Arcangelo estate, including Wallace’s family. Once finished, Nicolas attempted to take his own life but was ultimately stopped by Wallace himself. Enraged and distraught, Wallace proceeded to order Nicolas to live a life full of painful memories. Nicolas quickly became obedient, but not before reaching for Wallace’s injured eye, claiming that the other boy no longer needed it. Though it had not been shown explicitly, it is implied that Nicolas removed Wallace’s eye.

The two eventually fled into the seedier parts of Ergastulum where they proceeded to live new lives. Wallace dropped his name and began to go by “Worick,” and by the age of 13-14, the two boys took on a number of odd jobs (mercenary and prostitution to be specific) in order to sustain themselves. Though not confirmed, it is heavily implied that they crossed paths with the Monroe family around this time, with Nicolas slaughtering a good chunk of the organization in retaliation for an attack on Worick. Despite this, it’s implied that the head of the family bore no ill will against the boys, since the duo began to actually work for the family sometime in their 20s.

The boys eventually separated from the family, but remained on good terms with them. While the search for the missing Arcangelo heir continued, Nicolas and Worick went on to live an almost symbiotic life together. The two became “Benriya,” working as unaffiliated, jack-of-all-trades handymen that took on a variety of jobs ranging from tracking down missing cats to essentially becoming a sword/gun for hire. During this time, Worick and Nicolas became entangled with a Twilight woman named Veronica. Not much is known about her, though she appeared to be quite close to Nicolas, often sharing gentle touches and significant moments in some of his flashbacks of her. Despite mentions of Celebre overdosing and possibly even death, her fate remained unclear. However, it was heavily implied that Nicolas alone was responsible for her overall situation.

At the start of the manga, during one of their Benriya jobs, the two officially crossed paths with Alex Benedetto, a prostitute who worked around their area. After eliminating her pimp and his men, the two decided to take Alex in as a secretary — against the wishes of the police who had employed them in the first place.

Character Personality: It has been said many times before that people are not bound by what they are, but what they do. In Nicolas’ case, all that he does is because of what he is. In his world, being a Twilight governs so much of one’s life that there is literally no escaping it. From birth till death, they are found, tagged, and made to adhere to rules that constantly keep them under the thumbs of humans. It rules his past, his present, his future; every aspect of his life revolves around his status as a Twilight.

Thanks to a lifetime of oppression and discrimination, Nicolas has grown up with very little care and value for himself. He is, and always has been, a weapon first and foremost — conceived for his genes, kept alive for profit, utilized for his skills. It’s truly no wonder then, that more often than not, Nicolas will throw himself into a situation with absolutely no regard for the possibility that he may not return from it. Twilights are used to being measured by their usefulness, and Nicolas is no different. This blatant disregard for his safety is only further encouraged by a Twilight’s considerably short lifespan. With only a small handful of decades available to them, at most, that has become the Twilight mentality: rather than living, you’re simply waiting for death.

Because of all this, Nicolas tends to respond to most situations with a fairly blase attitude. More often than not, he is aloof, almost to the point of being apathetic. He hardly bats an eye to a rotting corpse, and doesn’t even flinch at the face of a fierce opponent. He tends to keep things simplified, only bothering to concern himself with what is necessary. And he will do his best to avoid everything else, considering it a troublesome endeavor. If it were up to him, Benriya would have never expanded, as taking in Alex merely complicated already tenuous matters.

But past his impassiveness is a deeper desire to keep unaffiliated, unattached. His circle is small — and possibly would have been even smaller if it weren’t for other parties’ more persistent personalities — and he seems quite content (almost adamant) to keep it that way. The life of a Twilight is a troubling one, both for the Twilight and the people they happen to keep around them. He appears plagued by his past association with Veronica, a woman he had apparently grown quite close to, and the tragedy of her situation could well be a factor in Nicolas’ insistence on keeping to himself.

That does not mean, of course, that he has no one. He may often appear untouchable, but in truth it is almost laughably easy for Nicolas to form bonds. Indeed, he is both blessed and cursed to be surrounded by people who care for him to some extent. In turn, he possesses an almost manic loyalty to those few that he has begrudgingly become close to. It seems the lack of value he has for his own life has become compensated by his value for others’. He does not hesitate to react for the sake of his companions, displaying an incredibly protective nature. He has been known to go to great lengths for them, and none showcases this more than his (admittedly complicated) relationship with Worick, going as far as to slay countless numbers of people for him out of a mere act of revenge.

Certainly, part of this can be attributed to his Twilight wiring, the old habit of merely succumbing to the will of humans and doing their bidding. But it’s clear that it is much more than that, as Nicolas himself has shown to rebel against the Twilight way of life just as much as he abides by it. With his resignation of what he is (and what this limits him to), there also appears to be a mild disregard for it. Typically, this rebellious nature flares up when he is particularly caught up in something, such as when he continuously ignored the Three Principles in his fight with Doug. In truth, while his life is undoubtedly influenced by his fate as a Twilight, it does not limit him — many of his actions seem spurred almost entirely by his own personal determination.

This is most obvious in the gestures of kindness he commits for the people around him. He can be quite thoughtful for someone who typically comes off as very stoic and detached. From something as small as gifting a handkerchief to help manage a bloody nose, to something as grand as risking his life to stall assailants, allowing reinforcements enough time to arrive at the scene — these gestures happen quite often, and usually without any prompting or request for it. However, as quick as he is to extend his kindness to the people in his life, he never seems to want any recognition for them. He typically shies away from any sort of attention in the first place, but he is even more reluctant to accept it over something that he has done for someone else (such as that moment he helped Alex open her bottle of pills; he fled the scene before she can even acknowledge him for it).

It’s clear, then, that there is more to Nicolas than the label of Twilight. Past that lies a man who is far from the monster his tags make him out to be. While it is certainly true that Nicolas is at his best when he is fighting — truly in these moments he is in his element, manic grin and all — it would be a mistake to think that a brutal killing machine is all he is capable of being. He is human, too, sometimes even more so than the very people who can claim purity in that. Past his skills is a man who enjoys a good book, whose sense of humor can be as dry as a hot summer in Ergastulum, and as dark as its cool winter nights. He is irritable and has little patience for messing around during a job, but on his off days he won’t hesitate to take a little girl into his arms and fly from roof to roof.

Character Powers & Skills: Nicolas is a Hagure, and officially he is tagged as an A/0 which places him fairly high on the hierarchy of Twilights. However it has been revealed that he garnered this rank simply because he constantly overdosed on Celebre and challenged Twilights that were ranked higher than him. In his normal state, he has been declared by an older and more experienced Twilight to be a B/5 at best (which makes him pretty average by Twilight standards). Despite this, Nicolas still possesses a number of abilities that separate him from a normal human being.

Powers
enhanced strength: all Twilights have incredible strength, which range from easily pulling out metal piping along a building’s wall to delivering killing blows without much effort.
enhanced speed: while some Twilights have been shown to possess exceptional speed even among other Twilights (i.e. Ginger from the Paul Klee Guild), all Twilights still move much faster than humans ever could.
enhanced reflexes: as with their speed, Twilights also possess incredible reflexes, able to dodge and deflect with more speed and accuracy than even an exemplary human. Twilights also appear to have great agility; Nicolas in particular has been shown to do a great amount of acrobatic and aerial movements without even breaking a sweat.
enhanced senses: Twilights typically have a very sharp sense of smell (several times in the canon, smoke bombs and other olfactory-based diversions have been used in order to hinder a Twilight’s tracking abilities). On top of this, Nicolas has been noted to possess incredibly keen eyesight, supposedly compensating for his deafness.
pain endurance: Twilights in general have a fairly high threshold for pain, and several times in canon Nicolas has shown to be unaffected by his various injuries.
durability: while not self-healing, Nic can sustain injuries that any normal human may otherwise find debilitating or fatal. He can sustain numerous injuries while still maintaining the ability to keep fighting. It’s been said in the canon that Twilights are “built sturdier” than humans, and appear to heal from wounds faster as well.

It should be noted that the extremity and intensity of these abilities can vary greatly depending on how much Celebre he has in his system. As is the case with all Twilights, the more he has in his body, the more enhanced his abilities become. In a fight where he is in over his head, Nicolas tends to overdose considerably on Celebre Uppers, which puts him and his abilities in an almost unstoppable berserker state.

Skills
sign language: since he was 12, Nicolas learned how to do sign language from a book Worick had found in the Arcangelo library. The sign language he uses appears to be based on Japanese Sign Language.
lip-reading: thanks to his keen eyesight, Nicolas has learned to read lips in order to help him communicate with others much more easily. While he is quite adept at this, he has shown to struggle if a person were to speak too quickly. Considering Ergastulum’s culture, the language he can likely read is English, and perhaps a few key words of Japanese.
hand-to-hand combat: despite not being formally trained, Nicolas shows great skill in brawling. He often makes it a point to only use his hands when he is up against an opponent he doesn’t find particularly threatening.
sword fighting: his katana is his weapon of choice, and he has been shown to fight with it for over 22 years. He is incredibly skilled with the sword, able to hold his own and even dominate in fights against multiple people, multiple weapons, and even Hunters.

CHARACTER SAMPLES.
First Person POV: N/A

Third Person POV: He isn’t the least bit discreet. To his credit, he isn’t even trying. Both men within the clinic are too wrapped up in their conversation to truly notice him, this silent silhouette hovering behind a nearby window just paces away. With the glass, the glare from the sun, their slightly turned away profiles, and the fact that he himself is turned away to grant them that illusion of privacy, it isn’t the easiest scenario to lip read, but he manages to pluck out the important parts just fine.

In a nutshell: they’re fucked.

Though neither Worick nor Chad would admit it outright, but he can read it in the bags under Chad’s eyes, in the weary way Worick smiles. He’d seen it himself, after all, the damage that these Hunters could do, the ease with which they destroy everything in their paths. It’s a power he’s never witnessed before, and it worries him as much as it intrigues him. Were he the type to ever fear for his death, these Hunters would certainly be the ones to kindle that in him.

But the feeling in his gut — growing, simmering, festering — is not one of fear. It’s darker, angrier, determined. A bit like a taut wire, ready — no, eager to snap, a feeling that he’s rather intimately familiar with, though he’s learned to control it better these days. (Or, at least, gives off a pretty good impression that he can.)

But for once, he finds himself hesitating. He isn’t the brains of the operation, that much is for sure. Scheming, calculating, strategizing — those are all Worick’s shtick. Nic just does, and — if left to his own devices — usually does it without a second thought. But today he finds himself unsure. Today, he finds himself without any alternatives.

He barely held his ground against one of those Hunters, and that evening he’d downed an entire bottle. If he had two, maybe three bottles at his disposal, he may have enough time left to get through one or two Hunters. But that isn’t enough. He wants them all.

Suddenly some slight movement at his right, but he smells her before he even sees her. It’s a peculiar scent, distinctly human… but nothing else. No smoke, no perfume, not even a hint of mint or caffeine or food on her breath when she breathes. No dirt beneath her heels or soap on her clothing, just human, all over, as if the very scent itself had been sprayed on for effect.

When he looks at her, she automatically smiles at him, then seems to think better of it a second later and smoothes her expression out. She looks cordial, except for the emptiness in her light eyes.

“Nicolas Brown.” She speaks slowly, deliberately, pursing her lips around every syllable as if to insure there would be no room for miscommunication. “We have a job for you.”

He lifts a hand to wave her away, even though his expression doesn’t change.

“You need our help,” the artificial woman insists politely, “just as much as we need yours.” He doesn’t respond, giving her the same dull-eyed stare he’d had since she first appeared. “I am from a company called the Cosmic Demolition Crew, and we specialize in—”

A sharp gesture from his hand cuts her off, a flicker of emotion finally registering on Nic’s face — irritation. He speeds through the signs, uncaring if she can understand them or not.   Don’t care. Go away.

He watches as the woman stares at his hands intently, processing and translating each sign. His eyes narrow.

“We can help you, Nicolas.” She takes a step forward as if to prove her resolve, but all it earns her is a lazy blink from Nic. “We can give you whatever you need.” When he still doesn’t respond, her eyes flicker towards the window, peering at the men still conversing inside. His body tenses reflexively, seeing how her eyes drop down just a few millimeters where he knows the man on the bed to be. But a second later, she turns her attention back to him. “Whatever you and your partner need,” she amends.

This time he doesn’t even bother with hand gestures, giving nothing but a shake of his head. Bullshit.

“The Hunters.” His eyes narrow once more, this time in warning, but she merely continues, unaffected. “Erica, Mikhail. Striker, Beretta, Colt, Sig, Emilio. Those are their names, and it’s barely a percentage of what I know.” She has his attention now, despite himself, and she knows it.

“They won’t stop until they’ve eliminated every single one of you, Twilights and human sympathizers alike. We can help you protect your people. We annihilate the Hunters for you,” she continues, growing confident, “it would be easy, you wouldn’t even have to—”

A sharp shake of his head. His hands slice through the air as he signs his request. The woman follows his gestures closely, brows slowly rising along her forehead as his meaning becomes clear. She doesn’t answer right away, but when she does, her words are low and steady.

“…We can give you the means. Say yes, and the Hunters are yours.”

A pause. Nicolas isn’t the type to believe in miracles, but even if he were, he’d know better than to assume something this riddled with darkness would be one. It isn’t a miracle, and maybe it isn’t even a solution. But it’s an option. And right now? It’s the only option he has.

And so he grins, slow and deliberate and maybe even a little excited. He doesn’t even mind saying it out loud.

yES.

CHARACTER ITEMS.
Pick a Team:
Red — Nicolas spent a majority of his life (and still does, in a way) being a mercenary for hire, meaning he is used to taking on a lot of jobs that are less than savory. He usually has no qualms with them, either, and considers most hits as another job that puts food on the table. He’s used to killing, and sometimes even has fun with it, as well as being quite stealthy. He also rarely questions orders… though he may judge you a little for it.
Orange — despite his deafness, Nicolas makes for a great scout. Numerous times on the job, he has been the “eyes” to scope out the situation, relaying necessary information. He can be quick and stealthy when need be, and fairly focused when it comes to gathering information.
Reason for Joining the CDC: Nicolas’ motivation in joining the CDC is a very simple, straight-forward one: he is desperate. Coming off the cusp of his first run-in with the infamous Hunters, as well as witnessing the destruction the rest of their numbers can wreak (particularly, on three people he’s associated with: Delico, Doug, and Worick), he knows exactly the extent of what they are dealing with. Even at his strongest, he isn’t enough, and too many people around him are getting hurt. The CDC offered him a way to exterminate those Hunters, and at this point it’s all they have, so he’s going to damn well take it.
Though it’s been some time since Nicolas was a mercenary, he still retains a lot of soldier-like behaviors. Notably, his ability to follow orders. He has no problem with killing, and typically reacts to most traumatic and devastating situations with a rather cavalier attitude. He may not end up 100% agreeing with all that the CDC does or decides, but he’s never had any problems separating himself from his task. In every situation, he’ll do what he has to do to do, even if it comes at the cost of his own life.
Mission Freebie: a drug that makes him strong enough to match up to the Hunters
Personal Item or Weapon: his katana (and sheath)

Character Inventory:
