celebrer 101 aka nic you complete idiot
BACKGROUND.In the world of Gangsta, there are metahumans called TWILIGHTS or TAGGED whose origins are a direct result of the Western Alliance's attempts to win a war against the East. The West created a drug called CELEBRER that was then administered to soldiers in order to push the limits of their physical strength and reflexes. The use of the drug for military purposes was eventually banned at the conclusion of the war four years later, due to numerous cases of problems being reported (a shorter lifespan, birth defects, and a variety of physical and/or mental disorders for not only its original users, but their children as well).
The high levels of toxicity in Celebrer not only caused numerous problems for its users, but created a strong dependence to it as well. Withdrawal symptoms for the drug include a wide variety of health problems, ranging from something as simple as nausea to something as fatal as death itself. In time, the very drug that caused all their problems became the only thing keeping the users alive and stable.
UPPERS & DOWNERS.There are two kinds of Celebrer. UPPERS are used as a stimulant, boosting a user’s already-enhanced abilities well past the body’s limits. When overdosed on Uppers, a user will have numbed pain receptors, some organ damage, and may even suffer from a manic state.
DOWNERS, on the other hand, work as a depressant or tranquilizer, counteracting the Upper's effects and stabilizing the body. If a user overdoses on Downers, it can cause fatigue, loss of consciousness, and/or organ failure.
Many Twilights need an intake balance of both Uppers and Downers in order to remain stable in day to day life. Dosage tends to depend on the user's lineage. The more Twilight blood in their system, the greater their dependency on the drug.
TLDR; without the drug, you die. Too much of the drug, you die. ( ' _ ' )b
FORMS.Celebrer are most commonly found in pill forms, which can be chewed to hasten the effects. Celebrer can also be found in two other forms: an auto-injector akin to EpiPens which are typically used for emergencies and a syringe-bullet similar to the darts found in tranquilizing guns. Auto-injectors have a higher concentration of Celebrer than the pills and is to be administered to the thigh or neck. The use of an auto-injector in the middle of a battle can instantly numb a Twilight's sense of pain and allow them to keep fighting. The syringe-bullet, on the other hand, is typically used in conjunction with a regular tranquilizing gun in order to instantly inhibit a Twilight's movements. ![]()
Nic's Uppers will come in pill form, while his Downers will come as auto-injectors.

SAY WHAT? Nicolas was born deaf, which means the CDC's lovely little earpiece with its lexicon of language translations is pretty much useless to him. He has the ability to read lips, though, which helps him better communicate with people who are not well-versed in sign language. Unfortunately, the only language he can read is English, with a few samplings of Japanese. Given panfandom's glorious multitude of languages to work with, that causes some problems! It would be greatly appreciated if you could spare a few seconds to fill out a simple form below, just to help me out in our eventual playing. :) Thanks a lot! ♥ |
